Making a practical plan for multiple locks
One key depends on compatible hardware
Having several doors does not always mean they can all use the same key. Cylinders and keyways need to be compatible, and the locks should be in suitable condition. Describe the brands or send photos if available, and explain which doors you want included.
Choose which doors should share access
List the front, back, side, and garage-entry doors relevant to the request. Think about whether every person with a key should open every door. For a business with different access levels, ask about a commercial keying discussion rather than assuming a single-key arrangement is the best fit.
Check the lock and the way the door closes
A convenient key arrangement still needs reliable hardware. Tell us if a door needs to be lifted, pushed, or pulled to engage the deadbolt. Mention those symptoms alongside the rekeying request so alignment or hardware issues can be considered before the work is planned.
